Latency isn't as much of an issue since Wirecast is sending to live stream (and/or recording) only. Skype computer has rDTP sending to Wirecast. You can tie a camera and mic from presenter to Skype computer if needed. Skype Computer is placed so the guest can see/hear audience or presenter (that's a situational choice). Skype Computer goes to projector as the audience only needs to see the guest. Skype may try to squelch this but in my experience that's hit and miss. The other Monitor out goest to Projector.Īlso keep in mind if you're sending audio out through a speaker system there's potential feedback into the Skype mic. If so, the best way to minimize latency is to have a computer that can handle three monitors. Is the projector for the attending audience? There's variations that can improve this but it depends on intent and budget. To Projector, which due to latency will be behind the actual presenter (audience may notice this). Another rDTP to send to another computer, introducing more latency and more load on the LAN. Wirecast computer sees rDTP (with some latency). You must make sure the LAN can handle rDTP (no port not blocked, available bandwidth). Presenter with Skype using Remote Desktop Presenter. The issues will involve latency and potential LAN issues. Your setup, as described has several risk points so you're going to need significant setups time.

Of course this also assumes that the local LAN is available. You could use Remote Desktop Presenter on the source computer you want to send to the second computer running another instance of Wirecast but that would have to be a trial mode unless you had a second license and the watermark would be intrusive. Otherwise Wirecast Pro (not Standard) can use Blackmagic Out to send video. This is assuming the computer has an additional monitor out from the GPU. You need to have that hooked up before your start Wirecast. I want to capture the SKYPE in Wirecast (which I was able to do based on the posts above) but, now I realize I have no additional monitor outputs to send the signal to the projectors in the auditorium so that the audience can see and hear both sides of the SKYPE call.ĭave Williams Wirecast > Output > External DisplayĪnd select your projector. We have a local presenter who will be on the receiving end of the SKYPE call and he wants to sit on the stage with his laptop so the audience can see him. We need to capture an incoming SKYPE caller. This seems like maybe I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be. Can I run a second instance of Wirecast on the 2nd computer and use Desktop Presenter to capture the output window of Wirecast running on the first computer? And then send the output of Wirecast on the 2nd computer to Monitor #2 (which is the projectors)? The projector gets it's signal from a different computer. I also need to project the Wirecast output to a projector and screen in the auditorium. I'm using Screen Capture to capture SKYPE into Wirecast.
